Anti-corruption Winter School organized jointly by Azerbaijan Anti-Corruption Academy (AZACA) and Azerbaijan Chapter of European Law Students Association (ELSA) and financially supported by the Council of State Support to the NGOs of Azerbaijan was inaugurated on 4 February 2017 in Qabala city of Azerbaijan.
During the Winter School which is going to last until 8 February, the participants will be instructed on what is corruption, its types, reasons, negative implications on society, legal means of preventing corruption, activities of specialized anti-corruption bodies, ASAN Service model,corruption in the private sector and criminological aspects of corruption. Theoretical lectures will be accompanied by practical exercises.
More than 500 hundred youth representatives had applied to take part in the Winter School and 30 successful candidates were selected by the organizing committee to participate. Among the trainers of the winter school were the alumni of International Anti-Corruption Academy based in Austria, experts of specialized anti-corruption bodies, civil society representatives and others. Qabala regional Center of ASAN Service hosted the inauguration ceremony of the Winter School.
We would like to remind the readers that AZACA has orgnaized Anti-Corruption Summer School in August 2016 in Baku, Azerbaijan. AZACA has been actively working on the promotion of the role of education in preventing corruption since its establishment in May 2016.
